Heritage Hill – Grand Rapids

Heritage Hill is one of the largest urban historic districts in the United States.  Adjacent to and overlooking downtown Grand Rapids, the areas 1300 historic homes and apartments date from 1843 and represent over 60 architectural styles.  The district sits atop a bluff just east of the central business district and is home to thousands of residents that live in a historic neighborhood with sidwalks and parks, yet can walk downtown for an evening dinner.

The northern part of Heritage Hill is closest to the Central Business District and contains the greatest number of mansions bult by the nineteenth century business elite.  Heritage Hill was the first “neighborhood” of Grand Rapids.  The many residents of Heritage Hill can walk to all of downtown’s cultural, entertainment, university, and health care events and offerings.  The population of “the Hill” today is made up of professionals, students, artisans, renters, and homeowers.  This diversity of population and the vastly unique homes and apartments is what makes Heritage Hill a one of a kind community.  Living in Heriage Hill is like no other.  The apartments in Heritage Hill are truely one of a kind, with a wood burning fireplaces, elaborate moldings, 10 foot ceilings, hardwood floors, massive windows…and a yard.
